Stephanie Garber Alchemy of Secrets UK and USA Cover Reveals

The UK and US covers for Alchemy of Secrets are here, along with some stunning special edition news!

Back in January, Stephanie Garber announced her brand new book, Alchemy of Secrets. It will be her first adult novel. The news came just as I’d started my Caraval reading journey, and it was very welcome. I fell in love with the Caraval series within the first few pages, and I’ve been following closely for any news on this new book ever since.

Now, at the time of the initial announcement, we knew that Waterstones in the UK would be getting a signed special edition and a non-signed special edition. Today, Stephanie Garber has finally revealed what the UK versions of Alchemy of Secrets will look like!

Alchemy of Secrets: Standard Edition (UK)

Well, we finally have the UK cover reveal for Alchemy of Secrets, and it’s stunning. This version really leans into the old Hollywood, art deco vibes I was hoping for. The blue, black, and gold design is stunning, and that little pop of purple is lovely.

All hardback editions (so standard, signed, and special/exclusive editions) will have black and gold foiled endpapers and foiled hidden covers in different designs. These will only be available while stocks last, and you can’t select which design you would like if you’re pre-ordering.

Alchemy of Secrets: Waterstones Exclusive Edition (UK)

The cover for the Waterstones exclusive of Alchemy of Secrets has also been revealed, and it doesn’t really deviate from the standard edition too much, apart from this one is more of a teal colour and it doesn’t have the purple. However, it does have a sprayed edge, and I love that we don’t just have a solid colour; there’s actually some detailing on there. The Waterstones exclusive will also contain exclusive UK content. This is also available as a signed edition.

Alchemy of Secrets: Standard Edition (US)

American readers got their reveals earlier in the week, and I’m not going to lie, I felt a little disappointed. While the naked hardcover is stunning (and there’ll be four different designs, I believe), the dust jacket is nothing special. The various special editions just have block-coloured sprayed edges too, no design. It definitely had me feeling a little nervous for the UK reveals. Although I’d have been buying the book regardless of what it looked like! I think in this case, though, the UK design team definitely won!

There will be exclusive editions of Alchemy of Secrets available at Barnes & Noble, Target, and Indigo. All use the same image as the standard edition, the only differences being the colouring used on the cover, and each will have a different colour edge. The standard edition does come with a black edge.

I’m so excited for this book, and I can’t wait to add it to my Stephanie Garber collection. This is one I’ll be heading in to store for on the morning of the release rather than pre-ordering online because I’ve a feeling there’ll be a specific hidden cover that I want!
