Popular fantasy author Stephanie Garber has announced the release of her next book Alchemy of Secrets.
Stephanie Garber fans thought they were in for a huge treat at the end of 2024 with the release of Spectacular but it seems like she hasn’t finished giving fans want they want just yet! The author has been hinting at a new book for a while with many people wondering if it would be a return to the popular series of Caraval or Once Upon a Broken Heart, a standalone novel or the beginning of a brand new series. Well, the news has officially been announced by the author now and here’s what we’re getting.

What is Stephanie Garber’s Next Book?
Stephanie Garber has just announced that she’ll be publishing her very first adult novel titled Alchemy of Secrets. This is a departure from her previous works as both Caraval and Once Upon a Broken Heart are both young adult series.
This will certainly excite a lot of fans who are keen to see how Stephanie will keep the magic of her previous novels alive in an adult fantasy novel. She has promised that although the book is a departure for her it will still feel like a very Stephanie Garber story with “lots of secrets and mysteries and love interests who no one should trust.” Well doesn’t that sound exciting?!
Here is what Stephanie Garber has revealed about Alchemy of Secrets on her Instagram so far:
“It starts with a class in an old movie theatre. Folklore 517: Local Legends and Urban Myths, taught by a woman called the Professor.
Most students believe the Professor’s stories are just fiction. There isn’t a man in Hollywood who you can call to find out the time you’ll die. There’s no haunted hotel bar in Los Angeles that the devil likes to frequent. There’s no such thing as magic.
But most students don’t have the same tragic past as Holland St. James.
Now a graduate student, Holland is hoping to use her thesis to rewrite her past by proving that some of the most infamous deaths in old Hollywood were actually murders committed by the devil. She has no idea that this quest will lead her into a deadly world of century-old secrets and unimaginable lies, and onto the path of two very dangerous men, both of whom are willing to do whatever it takes to find a magic that will either forever alter Holland’s life or completely destroy it.”
I don’t know about you but that has me intrigued! It will be interesting to see how the first-ever adult novel for Stephanie Garber goes but consider me signed up to find out!
