Laurie Gilmore Announces Dream Harbor Novella: The Apple Pie Ice Cream Parlor

There’s a new novella coming to the Dream Harbor series by Laurie Gilmore. Say hello to The Apple Pie Ice Cream Parlor!

Laurie Gilmore has just announced on Instagram that a novella will be released as part of the Dream Harbor series. But there’s a twist. It will initially only be available in the Netherlands and Belgium in October 2025. She did caption her post with “sorry everyone else, you’ll have to wait,” hinting that The Apple Pie Ice Cream Parlor will be available in other regions at some point.

It appears the book is getting a special release for English Book Week. It seems it was written specifically for the campaign, hence why it isn’t being released anywhere else just yet.

English Book Week is a campaign by Van Ditmar, the Dutch book trading partner. Across the Netherlands and Belgium, more and more readers are opting for English language books thanks to the likes of BookTok and Bookstagram.

Very little is known about The Apple Pie Ice Cream Parlor at the moment, other than it features friends-to-lovers, small-town romance, and appearances from all of the Dream Harbor favourites. The characters are Charlotte, who is Annie’s sister, and her colleague Leo. The story takes place on the day the pair realise they want to be more than friends. It is only a novella, so it looks to be a much shorter book than the other Dream Harbor books.

I (and hundreds of other Dream Harbor fans, if the Instagram comments are anything to go by) am hoping that this does eventually get published around the world.

While we wait for The Apple Pie Ice Cream Parlor outside of the Netherlands and Belgium, The Gingerbread Bakery is being released in September 2025 and will feature Annie as she prepares for a Dream Harbor wedding.

When there’s more information available, I’ll update this post. In the meantime, keep your fingers and toes crossed that the Dream Harbor novella, The Apple Pie Ice Cream Parlor, will make it to a bookshop near you soon!
