I have always had a passion for reading. I remember having bookshelves full of books as a child, but naturally, as I got older and entered my teenage years, there were better things to do than look at a book!

I rediscovered my love of reading when I was seventeen and at college. As part of my A-level literature, I read Spies by Michael Frayn. I don’t know what it was about that book that got me back into reading, but I haven’t stopped since, and I’m in my thirties now!

Towards the end of 2023, I quit my job in education to become a freelance writer. It hasn’t been the easiest of journeys, but it has given me the time to work on things I love. It started with BookTok and watching other creators before I finally plucked up the courage to start posting my own content on there. Being an all-or-nothing kind of person, I’ve gone the whole hog. Within the space of two months, I’d started posting not only on TikTok but on Instagram, too. Next came BookTube and finally this blog!

I don’t have a set genre that I stick to when reading. I like a little bit of everything, but since joining BookTok, it’s definitely widened my reading horizons, and now I have a whole bunch of books on my TBR that I never thought I would pick! I love sharing my reviews and book news on this blog.

I live a fairly quiet life in Yorkshire with my husband and our three cats, Buddy, Dobby, and Thomas. When I’m not reading or creating bookish content, I like to colour; it’s an activity I’ve recently discovered, and nothing quietens my mind like it. I’m also partial to horror movies or trash TV. Hello, Married At First Sight and Selling Sunset! They’re my guilty pleasures!
